Please note: if your application does not have a Persistence component, this section of the Cloud Control Panel will not be accessible for that application.
Tenant data is stored and managed according to your application Settings. To view and manage how the system is partitioning your Tenant data, click on the Data Storage link on the Cloud Control Panel. This will take you to the Data Storage page, which lists all the database partitions for this version of your application. If Resource Throttling is enabled on your Platform, the names of the Resource Policy and Storage Quota set for each partition are shown next to each partition listing.
Click on the Credential Information section to display the DBMS (MS SQL Server or Oracle) that is in use, as well as to display the Username that can be used to access all application databases. This will be in SQL Server login or Windows User account format, depending on the type of application and settings configured by your Platform Operator.
To view data stored on a partition, click on its name in the Database Partitions list. This will take you to a list of Tenants/Organizations for that partition:
If your application has Authentication, Authorization or no Application Services, you will be able see where your database is located, and will also be able to View Connection String information and Manage Data from this page; you will not, however, be able to relocate Organization (Tenant) data.
In order to retrieve connection string information (which you can use to connect to your application’s database(s), click on the View Connection String button. This will open a pop up window that will give you the necessary information to connect to the database, including hostname, database name. If SQL authentication is permitted for the database (Integrated Security=False), you will also see the SQL Server username (User ID), and password. If Windows Authentication is enforced for the database (Integrated Security=True), username and password information will be omitted (and the Username specified in the Credential Information section in the listing of all database partitions should be used).
To view and modify data for your Tenants, click on the Data Management link on the Data Storage page. This will take you to the Data Management page. From this page you can run a query by entering your valid SQL statement(s), and clicking the Execute button. For applications with Multi-tenancy, you will also have to select the appropriate Tenants whose information you wish to query.
Please note: Data Management links and options will be disabled for Single-tenant .NET SQL applications when SQL Server Windows Authentication is enforced by your Platform Operator.
If you are working with an application with Multi-tenancy, and have more than one partition available to you, you can move data for a given Tenant from one partition to another. To do this, click on partition you wish to relocate and then click the Relocate Organization Data button. This will open a field that will allow you to select which Organizations you wish to relocate.
Please note: you will only be able to relocate data to another partition if one is available. Should you require an additional partition, please contact your Platform Operator. Also, if you have deployed your application using the Commingled Data Model, you will not be able to relocate data to a partition that already contains data.
